Meet the Artist, Daralynne Swartwout
Everything you see on this site was lovingly made by hand by Dara Swartwout. No two items are alike, and beads are often also hand-made, where noted.
Dara is a multi-talented artist, gardener, and mother of two living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her husband Peter.
She has been making beautiful jewelry from hand-picked glass beads for over 20 years. Recently she has explored giving new life to pre-worn clothing, for example her cashmere quilted scarves.
Found objects and repurposed materials figure heavily in Dara's work. See for example her Leather and Lace bracelet line.
Originally from New Jersey, Dara has lived in California, Oregon, and now Pennsylvania. Her dream is to visit bead shops while traveling around the world.
